A. TokenZ is a collectable trading card game, where two opponents battle it out to see who can collect the most TokenZ treasure.

A. TokenZ was created by a 5th grade teacher in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan - Brad Waid

A. TokenZ was created in 2001

Q. Why did you make the game?
A. The game was created, so kids could have fun while challenging their brains by using strategy and mathematics.

Q. How did you come up with the characters?
A. Many of the characters are named after friends and some are named after family members.

Q. Can I hold a tournament at my school?

Q. Would you ever make a card for you?
A. I'm not sure Jessica. I get that question a lot. Since my two sons and my wife have their own card it would make sense for me to have my own card, but right now I'm not sure. If I did, I would probably be the King of Elvian.

Q. Are there any other ways to pronounce TokenZ.
A. The official way to pronounce TokenZ is "tokens", but some people do call it Token Z. Even some people who know me call it that. It's ok as long a people like the game.

Q. Do you know if other countries use TokenZ as a resource for learning multiplication.
A. Hey Kyle, I know TokenZ is being played in a lot of different states in the U.S., but the only other country that I am aware of using TokenZ right now is England. I love the idea of kids around the world using TokenZ to help them learn, that is why I made some cards in different languages. Evan in Japanese and Keegan in Spanish.

Q. How did you come up with TokenZ and did your family know?
A. Hey Kyle, The idea for TokenZ came to me one night when I was trying to make a game that my students would enjoy playing and work on Math at the same time. I told my wife about it after I made the first version. Then I showed my sons.

A. Hi Salena, I made this game to help kids work on their Math skills and have fun at the same time. I really like card games and I thought if I made it cool and fun that kids would like it too. I'm glad you like the game.

A. Yes Nick you can make your own cards. I have a page you can print off the site to draw and color in your ideas for characters. I will up load the page for you.

Q. Can you choose what cards you want to buy
A. Hey Kennedi, I am working on a page for the web site where you can purchase each individual card that you want. If you come to an open tournament (watch for postings) you can buy individual cards there too.

Q. Have you ever made a card for your class?
A. No, but I am making a special card for a kid who won the opportunity to have a card made after him. I will put up more about this later. Stay tuned

Q. What is a hydronomese?
A. Thanks for the question Raylen. Hydronomese is one of three known druids roaming the land (Terranese and Astronomese being the other two). Druids are an ancient and mysterious group. Not much is known about them, their allegiances or homeland. One thing that is known about Hydronomese is that he is some how connected with water and he is compelled to protect it. He is also able to control water and use it as he wishes.

Q. Why do you spell magic with a k (magik)?
A. Thanks for the question Jon. The characters from TokenZ live in a different world in a different time, so there are some differences in their language. Using a "k" where we would use a "c" is one of the differences.

Q. How often do you recommend someone practice?
A. If you played just a few minutes a day, that would help a lot. The more you play the better you get. Also, the more you play the more familiar you get with the characters and when to use them and who to use them against.

Q. Is it true that you use "K" instead of "C" because you think "K" is a more powerful letter?
A. Good question. It's not that I think it's more powerful, I use a "K" instead of a "C" because it gives the game and the characters a unique feel. If you notice, I like to use "K"s and "Y"s when I can.

Q. Are "The Books" that are described on the character cards in a trilogy, like M.A.D.S.?
A. No, not in this case. "The Books" that are talked about in TokenZ are books that are filled will the history from the region and these books need to be kept current (new information needs to be added all the time).

Q. Are you having a summer camp? And if you are when and where?
A. Yes, we are having a TokenZ camp this summer. It is August 7 & 8 from 9-4. We will spend two days playing TokenZ, learning about TokenZ, working on Math and advanced playing skills. The camp will end with a TokenZ tournament complete with trophy to the winner. Each camper will get a TokenZ T-Shirt. To sign up for camp, contact the Bloomfield Hills Recreation Dept. at 248-433-0885.

Q. Will there be X-Factor packs?
A. There was some talk about X-factor packs coming out, but instead of their own packs, x-factor cards will be randomly iserted into booster packs and decks.

Q. Are you going to make a 3 series?
A. There will be another version after Series 2, but it will probably have another name than Series 3. It will probably be something like "Tokenz _________ version".

Q. Who is Romir?
A. Romir is the brother of Bristol. Bristol is the the eldest brother and due to become King of Glorian someday. Romir left Glorian because of the disagreements between him and his brother.

Q. Where can you find the sheet for the cards?
A. We have had some trouble uploading some of our templates. We hope to have all the bugs worked out soon. Soon you will be able to print off coloring pages, card templates and certificates.

Q. HIHIHIHIHIH Mr Waid! Are you ever going to be able to use the original pictures of Drok and Shandur the White?
A. No, unfortunately I was unable to get permission to use those images. So I used the current Drok and Shandur images.
